Herdalssetra offers farm and pasture experiences with a focus on ecotourism, where you can experience one of Norway's largest communal goat farms with 400 goats, along with other animals like sheep, cows, and fjord horses.
Guests can participate in traditional cheese making and taste brown and white goat cheese, as well as authentic goat milk caramels. The site boasts a rich history with over 30 old pasture houses and opportunities for fishing in protected rivers and lakes. It is possible to rent a boat or go hiking to the Kallskaret nature reserve.
The animals are on the pasture from mid-June to mid-September, but visits can be arranged year-round.
